The Milwaukee Bucks’ recent dominance of the Chicago Bulls continued Sunday with a victory in Game 1 of their first-round series. After the opener, Giannis Antetokounmpo has now beaten the Bulls 14 times in a row since 2018. Chicago, looking for its first playoff series win since 2015, will try to end the losing streak and bounce back in Game 2 Wednesday night. The Bulls enter the fourth quarter leading the Bucks 87-80.
The Bucks took Game 1, 93-86, yet scored their fewest amount of points in a winning effort this season. They were fueled by a defense that held the Bulls to the lowest single-game point total of any Milwaukee opponent all season. Nikola Vucevic (24 points), DeMar DeRozan (18 points) and Zach Lavine (18 points) shot a combined 21 of 71 (30 percent) from the field in the loss. Giannis led the way for the Bucks with 27 points and 16 rebounds. The defending champions will try to secure home-court advantage before the series shifts to Chicago on Friday.
