Drake‘s highly-anticipated Certified Lover Boy album has finally dropped and fans are soaking in his musical offering while deciphering bars on each track. On one song, Drizzy name drops Ayesha Curry – wife of NBA baller Steph Curry – and social media is cutting up.
It’s finally here.
Drake dropped his long-awaited Certified Lover Boy Album today, months after it was originally set to be released in January. He shared he delayed the album release because he had to undergo surgery and recuperate from the procedure.
Leading up to the release of his sixth studio, Drizzy executed a genius rollout. He made headlines for his “rap beef” with Kanye West, his pregnant emoji album cover art received the meme treatment, he had dueling billboards in his hometown of Toronto with ‘Ye, and he even posted up digital billboards across the country, announcing which artists would be featured on his new album.
Certified Lover Boy is loaded! It has 21 tracks with features from Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Travis Scott, Giveon, Rick Ross, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Future, Ty Dolla $ign, Project Pat, Yebba, Kid Cudi and Nigerian singer TEMS.
At midnight, east coast fans took to streaming platforms looking for CLB, but it hadn’t been released just yet. Folks thought Drizzy was pulling a “DONDA,” but he tweeted the album would drop at 2AM EST.

Once it dropped, Drizzy fans were quick to share their thoughts about the album on social media. On one track titled “Race My Mind,” it appears the Canadian rapper name dropped fellow Canadian-American, Ayesha Curry – wife of Golden State Warriors player Steph Curry. Check it:
“How I’m supposed to wife it if you ain’t Ayesha enough,” the Young Money rapped. “You love getting T’d up. Love showing the cakes you know that they eat it up.”
Now, it sounds like Drake is hinting that Ayesha is the standard of woman he’s looking for when it comes to tying the knot.
Social media reacted to the name drop with several tweets:

Watch everyone suddenly talk about girls not being “Ayesha enough” even tho they were unnecessarily slandering Ayesha Curry on the internet for months. #CertifiedLoverBoy #CLB pic.twitter.com/R502vIBych

One Twitter user wrote, “Watch everyone suddenly talk about girls not being “Ayesha enough” even tho they were unnecessarily slandering Ayesha Curry on the internet for months.”
Hmph. It is interesting that Drake deems Ayesha the holy grail for a wife when he created a baby with a porn star and proudly professes his obsession with strippers and scantily clad IG models. Like, is Drake even Steph Curry enough to be a husband? Just saying.
It appears the Ayesha reference was cleared since both Steph & Ayesha showed Drizzy some love on social media after the release of his album:
By the way, Drake also named dropped Kelis in the same song:
“You’re too saucy, too flossy you moved in and moved off me all to be with n***** who just started to move bossy, maybe I just handled you too softly. Them boys got no Kelis in they blood,” he rapped.
Have you listened to CLB yet? If so, what are your thoughts?! Is it better than Kanye West’s DONDA?
