Healthy Meal Idea: Snack Dinner

Better than charcuterie! Easier to say and to spell. Simple to make and simply delicious, snack dinner is one of my families favorite meals. There’s no right way to make this meal. It’s just meant to be fun and yummy.

Snack Dinner is also a great way to bring people together. Give each family member a section of the meal to be in charge of and see what happens. Preparation and presentation are all part of the fun!

Here’s my simple formula for the perfect snack dinner. Just four simple sections to the meal. Choose which ones you like, or create your own combinations.

Four Steps to Snack Dinner

Step 1: Proteins

  • Ring bologna
  • Cold cuts
  • Cheese
  • Chicken salad (This Summer Citrus Chicken Salad is a yummy one!)
  • Edamame

Step 2: Fruits and Veggies

  • Celery (we like it with cream cheese inside and Everything Bagel Topper)
  • Carrots
  • Grapes
  • Strawberries
  • Apple slices
  • Cherry tomatoes

Step 3: Dip

  • Hummus (Make your own!)
  • Bean Dip (Try this Mediterranean Bean Dip. So good!)
  • French Onion Dip
  • Mexican Layer Dip

Step 4: Crunch

  • Pretzels
  • Chips
  • Crackers
  • Breadsticks
  • Crunchy veggies count too!!
