Minnesota Vikings at Kansas City Chiefs: Key information and first

It’s almost game time!

We are just about half an hour away from kickoff for the third and final game of the 2021 NFL preseason, as the Minnesota Vikings take a trip to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs, the reigning and defending AFC Champions. Andy Reid has declared that his team’s starters will play about a half this evening, and we don’t know what Mike Zimmer has planned for his team yet. . .hopefully we’ll see the big guns get some time.

Here’s everything you need to know about tonight’s contest.

Time: Friday, 27 August, 7:00 PM Central

Location: GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri

Television coverage: NFL Network (if you have it), various local affiliates around the country that you can see right here

Radio coverage: Vikings Radio Network, Sirius and XM Channel 383, SiriusXM App Channel 820

Line: Look, we’ve been over this

Prediction: I predict it’s going to be a long two weeks between the end of tonight’s game and the start of the regular season

Three keys

1) No significant injuries – Again, the only thing that matters about any preseason game

2) Can we get one damn offensive touchdown, please? – So far, the Vikings are averaging 8 points a game this preseason, and the team’s lone touchdown came on a pick-six last weekend against Indianapolis. I know the Vikings haven’t had a lot of the big guns out there, but can someone on this offense put the ball in the end zone?

3) Who wants it the most? – This is going to be the last opportunity for the guys at the bottom of the depth chart to impress the coaches in a game situation. Between now and Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 PM Central, 26 of the 79 guys that are on the Vikings’ sidelines tonight will be asked to turn in their playbooks. Who is going to make that impression?

Know the Foe: Arrowhead Pride

That’s everything you need to know before we kick things off on Kansas City. We’ll move everything to a second half Open Thread at halftime, so keep your eyes open for that. With that, let’s hope for a solid outing from our favorite team and no major injuries to anybody important.
